I am running filepro on a linux server.  We have some users that need filepro in a read only capacity.  I have tried the -ro flag in their menu options and I have also tried setting the environment variable PFREADONLY=on in the users .bashrc file.  In both instances, when trying to view a record (dclerk) searching for it with an index, I get the error "*** A System Error has Occurred ***  /db/sfo/filepro/fr.serv2/indexinvoice.A: Bad file descriptor".  In some cases I can scan for a record and view it, but not always.

Anyone know why I might be getting this?
Is there any other way to make the system read only for just a couple of users and use the indexes for finding a record?

You don't say what version of filePro you are running.  There were some bug fixes in newer versions but we cannon say if they apply to you in this case.  You can write to support@fptech.com and they can check your version and the updates that may effect you.
