Adding a Printer to the Provided Printer List in FP 5.6
« on: February 14, 2011, 12:58:33 PM »
I just installed 5.6 on my XP computer. We can not print to our Oki 320 printer. When we call up the printer list to pick a printer the Oki 320 is not listed. The Oki 182 is listed. So how do I add my printer?? It prints to my Oki 320, but not correctly. It appears to be printing RTF. I am extremely frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. I have a call in to FP, but frankly, they are not great at getting back to people. I wish they had an acutal customer support phone line. I have spent a lot of money upgrading to 5.6 and now can't use it!

Our normal call back time is within 4 hours.  I believe this to be a high standard in comparison to other companies.  The problem was fixed however by us reading this post to the forum.  In our discussions on the phone the 'looks like RTF" was never mentioned.  With that, we discovered that that the fp2rtf was installed and then not properly used and the settings in the start up .bat file were changing what the believed behavior should have been.  Commenting out the two lines related to RTF printing solved the problem.

Thanks for your patience.

Yes, Bill did call me back and when we couldn't fix my problem on Monday night. He called back first thing Tuesday morning and got right to the problem, which as it turns out was not all that complicated for him (would have been for me though). I was very happy and if I need to call them on anything else I feel confident that there will be an able person to speak to.
Thanks so much.
