PRINTER (using USB )
« on: September 23, 2010, 01:13:30 PM »
I bought a new computer , and now I have Windows7,professional.
The new computer does not have a LPT anymore, but for the printer I now use the USB, which a converter-cable to LPT. The printer has a LPT-cable connection.

The printer works proper on all other programs, but on Filepro, it does not (yet) work.
can some-one tell me, what I have to fill in in the printer-menu of filepro?
I tried LPT1: File pro says: cannot open the printer.
I tried USB01: File pro says nothing, but nothing happens on the printer.

can some-one help me

WIN:<windows printer name>

The Windows Printer Name has to be EXACTLY as Windows sees it.  It is also possible that your version of filePro's printer maintenance will allow you to press the F6 key when in the Destination field.  This will list the printers as windows sees them and you can simply select the printer.  If you do not have the F6 function in your version, then you will have to type the Windows printer name manually.

can you give an example of such a file-name in the destination-file-field?  and must it between " "symbols?

I found a file, named c:\windows\system32\drivers\usbprint.sys. I tried it, between " "symbols and without " " symbols, but it did not work

thank you in advance
