I am having an issue of updating files in FilePro GIClient. Everytime I try to update, it comes up with the error message "Record is Being Updated - Access Denied". What can I do to fix this? I've read some previous forums and they all say that resetting the serving won't fix it, so I'm at a loss. Please let me know ASAP! Thanks!

This is a sign that someone exited filePro inproperly leaving filePro's lockfile in a state that says it is busy.  You can remove the lockfile by going to the filePro Plus Main Menu, selecting ? - filePro Directory, select the filename that is locked, then select D - Delete Formats.  USE ONLY OPTION M - Lockfile.  This will remove the lockfile for this filename.

Thank you for the quick response! I tried  using the unlock feature and it worked at first, but then I closed the file and went to fix the other 2 computers running this program and when I returned to mine it was giving the same error message again. I tried the unlock steps again, but it didn't work this time around and won't work on the other 2 computers. Another issue we are having is that when posting images to the file, it gives the same message. Any other ideas?

Nope.  That message is a lockfile error message.  I am also not sure what you mean by going to the other computers.  If this is a network installation then you would only need to do it once on the server.  The error could also mean that someone else is using the file and no matter how many times you delete it, the person in the file could be creating the lockfile again.  If this is a problem that keeps happening then (1) someone is either in the file, (2) exiting improperly, or (3) there is a coding error in processing causing the error.

Tomorrow when I get back to work I will try the process over again, and make sure all the other users are not on the program at the time. Thanks again for the advice!
