In printer maintenance, simply specify the destination as...

                       win:yourprintername

So if the windows name for the printer is "office" then in the config file
set the destination to        win:office

If you only have a handful of printers, then just select the "P" option
in printer maintenance.

thank you for your input.Unfortunately I still get the "invalid argument" error message.
in the Windows printers and faxes box the default printer is named "Brother MFC-9440CN Printer on wausau-dc". I entered this in the printer maintenance under the destination after putting in "win:" before the name and I stil get  the error message.

If you have 5.6.02 or later, then you can use the F6 key in printer maintenance's "destination" field to bring up a list of printers as known to Windows.

What happens if you rename the printer in windows to a name that has no spaces?

For a test, just call it      Brother.

Then use    win:Brother     as the fp destination and report back.
