I am trying to copy my whole filepro vers 4.8 system (fp and filepro directories from drive C on old computer ) to a new (XP) computer to drive C.

On the new computer when I execute fpplus.bat (see command list below) the environment variables and path are set properly but when the main menu appears none of the menu options work.

@echo off
rem This File created by install shield
set PFDSK=C
set PFDATA=C:
set PFPROG=C:
set PFDIR=
set PFCONFIG=
set PATH=%PFPROG%\fp;%path%
%PFPROG%\p.exe

I have also tried a clean filePro install from my install CD but the SETUP aborts in the middle with a "cannot read file" error message
Any advice would be appreciated.

I would strongly suggest upgrading from 4.8 myself.

I know this is an old post, but I just saw it...
After migrating to a new XP computer, I needed to go to "U" (Utilities), then press the number "2" (Display Printer Status), then type X to go back to the main menu.  Then all menu items work.  I have no idea how I figured that out, but it has worked for me for 7 years.  No one has been able to figure out how or why this suddenly makes filepro work....
