I am running filePro plus 5.0.  It is stored on a Linux SUSe server. My users are using windows workstation to access filepro. Our problem has been users clicking the "X" for close and this is saving unwanted records. How can we stop them from clicking the "X" or can we program something that would make the "X" invisible? Thanks for your help.

Through a shortcut that calls up the menu. This also happened when we ran a novell server.

filePro 5.0.14D9 on
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10.  We used to run filePro from a Novell
Netware 5.1 server.

Although there is no sure way for filePro to prevent closing a Window without properly exiting filePro, if you run filePro in FullScreen mode rather than in a Window, the "Exit" option is not available to the user unless the user switches from FullScreen mode back to a window. Although we don't normally recommend running filePro in FullScreen mode, this should solve your problem. To run in FullScreen mode, change your Icon Options properties by checking "Full Screen" in the display options.

The latest Anzio will allow you to disable the 'X' if I'm not mistaken - contact Bob Rasmussen for confirmation.

There is a program you can find online called ConsoleNoClose.exe.  This works for us.  We had a problem with our users doing the same thing in filePro.  But despite our best efforts they still found a way around there being no "X" to close the window.  Now they go to the task manager, and close it that way.
