search and display last updated field

Is there a way to search and display that "date last updated" or @UD field on records?  Want to search and display as part of the browse feature.

you can use @ud just as you would a real field on a browse - it is an 8 character date field.
instead of *2, for example as field #2, you'd have *@ud
@ud also works in selection sets, just as a real field would, so you can search based on it if need be
