modifying the map

I am running 5.6.06 on SCO UNIX and whenever we try to modify and existing map we receive the following error mgs: ** A System Error Has Occurred** Error checking free disk space: "path of file": Value too large for defined data type.  Any suggestions as to why?  This has only been happening since we upgraded.  Thanks in advance!  :D

add 'PFNODF=ON' either in your configuration editor or script to set environment.
