filePro Tips and TricksReport Tip – Sitting in a control file, submitted by Ken Brody
Sometimes, the best way to run a report is to sit on a record in a
control file, and loop through records via "lookup". While a simple
"-sr 1" on the command line may suffice, it does prevent more than one
report from being run at a time. (Record 1 will be locked during the
output phase, blocking subsequent reports from running on record 1.)
If you are not doing any posting to any file, a simple "-ro" flag to
run in read-only mode may suffice. However, there are times when you
need to post to other files, and read-only mode cannot be used. In
these cases, you need to make sure that each instance of *report is
sitting on a different record.

NEW filePro Demo Software!Now available— a 30-day full featured Demonstration version of filePro
5.6! These are available at
http://www.fptechforum.org/demo/These downloads may be installed on multiple computers, and will operate
for 30 days from installation. You do not need to download or install a
license file for these demo versions.
Please note that there are different compiles for filePro 5.6 for
Open Server 5 and Open Server 6. If you are using Unixware, you will
need to download the Open Server 6 software.

New Policy Regarding Payment Terms for filePro ProductsWe've recently had to review our payment terms, and have come up with
the following changes:
1) All support calls shall be paid by Credit Card or an Annual
Maintenance Contract.
The current rate for Technical Support is $125.00 per incident.
Annual support contract options can be reviewed on our website at:
http://fptech.com/Support/2) Unless terms have been established, all payments must be received
prior to shipment/download.
Terms can be established by submitting a credit application
and providing references.

* Once terms are approved, product may be purchased as agreed. *

Software purchases must be paid within 30 day under the following
conditions:
a) If a customer requests TERMS on any order over $1000.00,
a sixty (60) day temporary license will be issued. Upon receipt
of the payment, a permanent license will be made available for
download.
b) If payment is not received within 60 days, the
temporary license will expire and the software will no longer
operate. To activate a permanent license it will be necessary
to pay the Full Retail product price with NO discount.
c) Any invoice which is NOT paid within the 30 day period,
will be accessed a 1.5% late fee charge being added to
the balance as of that date.
3) We will be accessing a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18%)
annually on unpaid balances.
