How is it best or possible to create an e-mailable document from Filepro

Hi All,

Looking for help in a way to create a report form into e-mailable document.  I realize I can use the r2f printer option but that requires that to be set when you start Filepro and the client doesn't necessarily want all reports to go to screen first and then print.  Is there a way to drive a different print option from processing or on the menu line?  Thanks! Depending on your requirements, first have filePro print the report directly to a file. Now if the output is clear text as with the NOCODES .prt, then that file could be emailled directly in addition to being printed if you need a hardcopy.

Otherwise, assuming a LaserJet output, print to a file and the process that file through a 'pcl2pdf' program and email the resulting .pdf file. For Unix, there is a free program available on the internet that will handle very sophisticated PCL output. For DOS users I am not sure, but Bob Rasmussen's "Print Wizard" can produce a .pdf from PCL output.
