I'm going back to the subject of this post: "How to add blank records"

Would it be possible to add records to a file with an input processing table and then delete those records so that the file is expanded?... say from 1000 records to 5000.
Yes.  Use "expand files" (dexpand) from the filePro main menu.

Also, is there a way to compress the file to get rid of all blank records?
Not within filePro itself.  There are third-party utilities for this, however.  (Just remember -- filePro will re-use those deleted records when you add records to the file.)

I have tried the "squeeze" program, but I get an error message after replacing the files like the key and data files do not match.

I downloaded the deflate.taz file, but I cannot open it... maybe unix.
